Course Breakdown

Every year there are 4,500 hospital admissions and approximately 10 deaths from food allergy. EU Food Information Regulations 2014 expect food businesses to provide information on allergenic ingredients if they are in the food you serve and sell.

Who needs this allergen qualification?

It is recommended that you take this qualification if you are involved in the handling of food in any catering or hospitality setting.

Why should I take this course?

Food allergy and intolerance are growing health concerns in the UK. They are life changing and in serious cases can be fatal, or lead to long-term health conditions. Food businesses are required by law to provide allergen information.

Developing food allergen awareness is key to complying with the Food Information Regulations 2014, to meet your legal obligations and improve business awareness. Customers need to be confident that the information provided is complete and correct and the food that is served or sold is safe to eat.
