Who is this course for? 

This course is targeted at food handlers who work or intend to work in food and drink manufacturing. A food handler is any person, in any type of food business, who handles food. The food can be open or packaged and includes drinks and ice.

 

Why is food hygiene training important? 

Everyone who works with food has a responsibility for safeguarding the health of consumers and ensure that the food they serve or sell is perfectly safe to eat.

Topics covered include:

  • legislation

  • food safety hazards

  • temperature control

  • food handling

  • pests

  • HACCP

  • storage

  • cleaning

  • food premises and equipment.

Course information:

  • One day course 09:30-16:30. For training at a food business premises training can start earlier or later than 09:30. 

  • Assessment: Multiple choice examination 30 questions with 20 correct to pass

  • Ofqual Qualification Number 603/0716/X

  • Candidate prerequisite requirements: None

  • All candidates will have to show some form of official ID on the day of course, e.g. a passport or ID card

  • Delivering Food Safety Courses to Manufacturers for over 15yrs. 

  • Delivered Food Safety training courses for Westminster Adult Education for 8years.  

  • Previous international Food Safety Auditor for Ecolab

  • Writes bespoke HACCP Plans and Food Safety Policies

  • Holds a B.Sc (Hons) in Food Science related subjects and Level 4 in Food Safety.

On-site training - we come to your business location

  • Cost £300 plus £30pp, includes exam RSPH HACCP exam fees and course material. 

  • Courses delivered nationwide.

  • Trainer travel fees might be applicable depending on your business location. 

  • We have delivered this course at breweries, distillers, bakeries, bread factories, noodle factories, meat plants, butchers, fisheries, hotels, restaurants, department stores, care settings and more. 

  • Our courses are VAT exempt

  • We run public courses online remotely, live with the trainer
