Level 2 Nutrition and Health Course - RSPH

The objective of this Nutrition and Health course is to provide learners with knowledge and understanding of the relationship between diet, health and wellbeing, as well as the role of food labelling and other factors in food choice.

Who is this course for?

This level 2 nutrition and health course is ideal for individuals who are in the catering, hospitality, healthcare or leisure industries who need an understanding of what constitutes nutritious and healthy meals.

In the health sector, it would be relevant for health trainers, other health professionals and staff in a range of public services who need a good knowledge of human nutrition.

This course replaces the Healthier Food and Special Diets qualification. 

 

To achieve this qualification a candidate must:

  • Understand healthy eating guidelines in comparison with the average UK diet

  • Understand how diet affects health and well-being

  • Understand the factors that influence food choices

Course information:

  • Duration: One day, public courses 09:30-17:30.

  • Your business location, we can start earlier or later than 09:30. 

  • Ofqual qualification number: 603/2159/3

  • Assessment: 30 MCQ's (20 correct to pass), to be completed in 45 minutes. 

  • Candidate requirements: Ideally candidates should have a level 1 in a nutrition related course and literacy and numeracy level 2

Course Trainer

Your Trainer:

  • Expert trainer and nutrition practitioner, has a BSc (Hons) in Nutrition, Biology and Dietetics, who worked in the NHS for several years advising patients on cholesterol lowering, weight loss, diabetes, allergens and more.

  • Your trainer has been teaching nutrition since the 1990's. Previously a lecturer for WAES (Westminster Adult Education) for over 8years.

  • Has worked in private practices as a nutritionist and also wrote nutrition and health articles. The trainer also qualified as a fitness instructor, and previously taught fitness classes.

  • Food Safety Consultant and writes and updates allergen information for food businesses.

  • We run public courses at our venue for anyone to attend at our training venue 

  • Cost £120pp, includes exam fees. 

  • Our courses are VAT exempt. Contact us for more information

 

In-house - we come to you. 

  • If you'd like this course delivered at your business location, submit a request and we will get back to you as soon as possible. 

  • Cost £300 plus £25pp, includes exam fees.

  • Although we are based in London but can deliver this course anywhere in the UK. 

  • Our courses are VAT exempt.
