Food Safety Refreshers
10 short refreshers, built around FSA training films
Each one is around 15 minutes: a short introduction, the Food Standards Agency’s own training film on the topic, a practical “doing it right in your kitchen” lesson, and a 5-question check. Pass it, and you get a Kitchen Tonic certificate of completion.
This series is built and ready. We are waiting on Food Standards Agency approval to publish the training films before it goes on sale.

A refresher, not a replacement
Refreshers are not accredited training and do not replace Level 2 or Level 3 food safety courses. They are a fast way to reinforce one specific habit, such as handwashing or chilled storage, between your team’s full training cycles.
- Built around an FSA training film, used with permission
- 15-minute self-paced lesson set plus a 5-question check
- Kitchen Tonic certificate of completion, valid for 12 months
The Food Standards Agency does not endorse, partner with, or review Kitchen Tonic’s courses. Each refresher uses one of their public training films with permission; everything else, the lessons, the practical guidance, and the assessment, is written by Kitchen Tonic.

Frequently asked questions
Are Food Safety Refreshers accredited?
No. Refreshers are short Kitchen Tonic courses built around a Food Standards Agency training film, ending in a Kitchen Tonic certificate of completion. They are not an RSPH or Ofqual-regulated qualification, and they do not replace Level 2 or Level 3 food safety training. They are designed to reinforce one specific habit between full training cycles.
Does the FSA endorse Kitchen Tonic?
No. Each refresher is built around one of the Food Standards Agency's public training films, used with permission. The FSA does not endorse, partner with, or review Kitchen Tonic's courses.
How long does one refresher take?
Around 15 minutes: a short introduction, the FSA film, a practical "doing it right in your kitchen" lesson, and what an EHO looks for. It finishes with a 5-question check.
What do I get for passing?
A Kitchen Tonic certificate of completion, valid for 12 months, downloadable instantly from your learn portal account.
Can I buy all 10 at once?
