Allergen Compliance
Allergen Management & Labelling
Protect your customers and your business with compliant allergen management. From Natasha's Law labelling to staff training, we make allergen compliance straightforward.

14 major allergens must be declared under UK food law. Non-compliance risks unlimited fines and prosecution
Prefer to manage it yourself? Build and update your allergen matrix live in the free Kitchen Tonic Business Portal, then export an EHO-ready pack. Open the allergen tool in the portal. It is an aid to managing your allergen information, not a guarantee that your menu is allergen-safe.
Allergen Mock Inspection
Test Your Allergen Controls Before an EHO Does
Included as part of your allergen matrix visit, not a separate charge. A consultant asks your staff the same allergy questions a customer or an EHO would, checks your matrix against what is actually on the pass, and reviews your PPDS labels if you sell prepacked for direct sale food.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Natasha's Law?+
Natasha's Law (the UK Food Information Amendment) requires food businesses to provide full ingredient lists with allergens emphasised on all prepacked for direct sale (PPDS) foods. It came into force on 1 October 2021.
Do I need allergen labelling for my restaurant?+
If you sell prepacked for direct sale foods (sandwiches, salads, baked goods wrapped on-site), you must provide full ingredient labelling. For non-prepacked foods served in restaurants, you must be able to provide allergen information verbally or in writing when asked.
How quickly can you set up our allergen management system?+
A typical allergen matrix and labelling system can be set up within 2–4 weeks, depending on the size of your menu and number of suppliers.
How much does an allergen matrix cost?+
£200, whatever your venue size. If your menu changes later, new dishes can be added to your matrix for £50 per 3 dishes, or £25 per dish.
What happens after I send a message?+
A consultant reviews your enquiry and replies within 1 business day with a tailored quote or available dates. Prefer to talk it through first? Book a free 15-minute call.
Do you offer an allergen-specific mock inspection?+
Yes, as part of the allergen matrix visit. A consultant tests your staff with allergy questions, checks your matrix against your live menu, and reviews your PPDS labels if you sell prepacked for direct sale food, at no extra cost on top of the matrix price.
What does an allergen mock inspection check?+
Staff knowledge (can they answer an allergy question correctly on the spot), whether your allergen matrix matches what is actually being served, and, if relevant, whether your PPDS labels meet Natasha's Law requirements.
